| Vehicle Accidents - Following Too Closely is the # 1 cause.
In 2009 County Police investigated 1,713 roadway crashes of which 1,405 (82%) were rear-end collisions. Of these, 526 (30%) were drivers following too closely.
Please do your part and stay apart two seconds or more. The Two Seconds-Too Close Rule does prevent accidents. When the rear bumper of the vehicle in front of you passes a fixed object, such as a reflector in the center lane, a sign, etc., count "one-thousand-one, one-thousand-two," if your front bumper arrives at the same location at or within two seconds, your following two seconds-too close.
Please help keep our roads safe. Thank you.
